Chief Financial Officer: Paul Bowen

Paul joined Oakgrove School as Business Director in 2014 from a similar role in another Academy in the West Midlands. In total, he has worked in the State and Independent Education sectors for 15 years following a military career specializing in engineering and latterly in finance and administration. As a Chartered Management Accountant, Paul worked as an internal consultant to the MoD on multi-million pound projects across the globe.

Paul’s roles have always been to implement and develop the systems which underpin the smooth and efficient running of a school and to lead and manage the support staff. He has restructured and reorganised support staff structures in the transition to Academy status and introduced new practices in all areas of support services including finance, IT, premises management, student services, catering and cleaning. Paul is very people focused and has supported many individuals through professional and career development.

Paul has particularly enjoyed the development of new buildings and facilities and has a strong record of delivering major projects on time and on budget. With an engineering background, he understands the building process and the design and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.

In 2016, when Kingsbridge Educational Trust became a multi-academy trust, Paul was appointed as Chief Financial Officer. He currently undertakes this role alongside his role as Oakgrove School Business Director but will become more Trust focussed as the Trust expands.
